Catching a new train

The new kid on the block www.openrails.org

With all the discontent with Rail Sim/RailWorks it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

A free, open, community led train simulator.

Still very early days but the team is building up and almost all of the comments on the forums have been positive – so far….

Let’s see how far we can get this project – I’m glad to say I’m part of the development team so I’ll have some input.

Hello Paul,It looks like some form of MSTS 2 is back on the tracks with a better future.Btw do you know what’s going on with amabilis forum? ("Service Not Available" since several days)

We’ll have to wait and see what happens. It takes too long for commercial companies to build a full retail product. If we can get openrails going then we won’t be constrained for the future. The amabilis url has gone but all http://www.3d-canvas.com links are still working. I’ve tried to contact Richard via his other e-mail but no reply as yet.
